The United Arab Emirates has dispatched a fresh shipment of humanitarian aid for victims of recent earthquakes in eastern Afghanistan.
The UAE’s state news agency, WAM, reported on Wednesday, October 1, that the shipment is part of the country’s ongoing air and Sea Bridge to assist those affected by the disasters.
According to the report, the UAE’s aid deliveries to Afghanistan have so far reached more than 3,681 tons of food supplies, medical equipment, and shelter materials.
A portion of the assistance has also been provided through local procurement to ensure the urgent needs of earthquake victims are met swiftly.
The aid comes after last month’s deadly earthquakes in eastern Afghanistan, which killed and injured thousands and left many families homeless.
