Peter Mandelson Resigns from Labour Party after Epstein Links Revealed

Peter Mandelson, a former British government minister and the UK’s former ambassador to Washington, has resigned from the Labour Party led by Prime Minister Keir Starmer following the publication of new reports about his links to Jeffrey Epstein.

The Telegraph reported on Sunday night, February 1, that Mandelson said he did not want to cause further embarrassment to the party, a point he raised in his first media interview on the issue.

He stressed that allegations regarding financial payments from Epstein to him appear to be inaccurate and said he is reviewing the claims.

Mandelson, who played a key role in Labour’s electoral successes in the 1990s, was removed from his post as Britain’s ambassador to Washington last year after the disclosure of a letter detailing his connection with Epstein.
