The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has announced that its clinic at the Nimruz border crossing has become a vital location for refugee women and girls returning from Iran.
The organization said on Wednesday, August 27, on its X page by publishing a report that, on average, more than 80 women benefit from the clinic’s services daily.
According to the organization, services such as maternal care, vaccination, and primary outpatient treatments are provided for women returning from Iran at this center.
Based on the report, returnees who need treatment are transferred to the examination room, and mothers in labor are transferred to the special maternity ward.
The organization has added that the Nimruz clinic is supported with cooperation from the British government, and its goal is to urgently address the medical and psychological needs of returning women and girls.
This comes as the United Nations emphasizes that many women, in addition to physical problems, also face psychological pressures and trauma resulting from travel, and providing services to them is fundamentally important for reducing the humanitarian crisis at the border.
