Nader Yarahmadi, Director General of the Bureau for Aliens and Foreign Immigrants Affairs of Iran’s Ministry of Interior, stated that migrants who have not received their house deposit (mortgage) can pursue the matter through the embassy and representative offices.
According to the ISNA news agency, Yarahmadi said on Monday, 14 July 2025, that Iranian authorities are prepared to assist citizens of Afghanistan in recovering their house deposits.
He added that in many provinces, social assistance departments have been established to resolve financial disputes between migrants and landlords. Previously, this Iranian official had also stated that citizens of Afghanistan could hire lawyers to pursue their claims.
Many migrants who have recently been deported from Iran report that landlords are refusing to pay back their house deposits.
